How to choose a hydraulic filter element? 

In fact, there are three main points in choosing hydraulic filter elements: first, accuracy, and the purity of hydraulic oil must be considered in each hydraulic system, which is also the original purpose of using oil filter elements. Secondly, strength and corrosion resistance; Finally, filter elements with different filtering functions and precisions are selected according to different installation positions.


The filter element is a filter element made of porous filter material. It intercepts the solid particles in the system medium by surface interception and curved hole adsorption, thus achieving the purpose of purifying the medium. At the same time, the trapped solid particles blocked the medium channel of the filter element, which increased the pressure difference between the two ends of the filter element. When the pressure difference between the two ends of the filter element reaches its limit, the filter element cannot continue to work and needs to be replaced. Therefore, the filter element is a consumable part of the system.


So how should we choose the hydraulic filter correctly?

Mainly refer to the following aspects:


Filtration accuracy:

First, determine the cleanliness level of the stains used according to the needs of the hydraulic system, and then select the filtration accuracy of the oil filter according to the schedule according to this cleanliness level. The nominal filtration cleanliness of hydraulic filter element commonly used in construction machinery is 10μm m.


Flow characteristics: 

The flow rate and pressure drop of the filter element through the oil are important parameters of the flow characteristics. According to ISO3968-91 standard, the flow characteristic experiment is carried out to draw the flow-pressure drop characteristic curve. Under the rated oil supply pressure, the total pressure drop (the sum of the pressure drop of the filter shell and the filter element) should generally be below 0.2Mpa.


Strength of filter element

the rupture-impact test shall be conducted according to ISO2941-83 standard, and the pressure difference that drops sharply when the cartridge filter element is damaged shall be greater than the specified value.


Flow fatigue characteristics: 

100,000 cycles of fatigue test should be conducted according to ISO3724—90 standard.


Experiment on the adaptability of hydraulic oil: 

the experiment of pressure flow bearing capacity should be carried out according to ISO 2943-83 standard.
