The separation filter element, like the coalescence filter element, is a filter material used in the oil-water separation filter to separate oil from water. 

When the oil-water mixture enters the filter, it must first pass through the coalescence filter element to filter out most of the solid impurities and condense the dispersed fine water. After these impurities are filtered and precipitated, the filtrate enters the separation filter element to separate water.

The separation filter element has good lipophilicity and hydrophobicity, so it can be used to further separate water and finally obtain clean and anhydrous oil. 

A separator filter element is often used for drying various gases. It can separate the fine water mist dispersed in the gas, which plays the role of drying and dehydration. At the same time, it can also be used to filter some liquid-liquid immiscible mixtures with large specific gravity differences.

The existence of the separation filter element can also effectively keep the oil circuit inside the filter and prolong the service life of the filter. 

At the same time, it has good interchangeability. Some filteration elements used in low-pressure environment are also provided with bypass valves. When the filter elements are replaced in time, the bypass valves can automatically open, ensuring the normal operation of the filter system and effectively controlling the pollution degree of the working medium.

At present, coalescence and separation filter elements are mainly used in aviation fuel, gasoline, kerosene and diesel oil.
